Maintaining Consistency in a Distracted World
"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." - Galatians 6:9

Unexpected twists and turns happen in life. At one point, we are inspired and disciplined in our daily path, and we are fervently devoted to God. After that, we find it difficult to read the Bible, pray, or even enjoy the things that used to inspire us. The fact is that when life keeps happening all around us, it can be challenging to remain steadfast in our beliefs and goals.
In Galatians 6:9 (NIV), the Bible cautions us, "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Even when our efforts seem insignificant, our prayers go unanswered, or our strength decreases, this verse urges us to keep going.
Being consistent is about turning things around, not about being flawless. We have to get back up even if we fall. "For though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again," according to Proverbs 24:16. The issue is staying down, not falling.
Jesus set an example of consistency. Despite His exhaustion, He continued to pray (Mark 1:35). He loved regardless of the number of people who rejected him. Despite the difficulties, he achieved his goal. We can persevere if our Savior did.
Rely on God's strength when life becomes too much to handle. "But those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength," according to Isaiah 40:31 (ESV). Relying on His grace will enable you to remain consistent, not your willpower.
So, keep moving forward. Even if you don't feel like praying, keep praying. Continue serving even if no one is looking. Even if you can't see the route, keep your faith. Because you will eventually benefit from your faithfulness. God is working even when you don’t see it. 🙏
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Help us to remain faithful to You in a world full of distractions. Remind us that our consistency comes from Your grace, not our strength. Strengthen our hearts when we feel tired. Maintain our focus on You, thoughts rooted in Your Word, and actions directed by Your Spirit. Encourage us when we falter, and guide us back when we feel lost.
Let You be exalted by our loyalty.
In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🙏
