The Power of Admitting Wrong & Living Authentically
“Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.” - Proverbs 28:13
Greetings, everyone!
Welcome back to "Reyvelations with Michael Rey," where we tell the truth, share our journeys, and uplift one another. Today, I want to talk about something real—admitting our wrongdoings and living 100% authentically.
Having the ability to acknowledge our mistakes is one of the best indicators of spiritual growth. True strength is found in humility in a society where pride frequently governs the heart. Proverbs 28:13 says, “Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.” Since confession brings healing, God rewards people who are forthright about their flaws.
Admitting fault is a reflection of holy character, not a sign of weakness. Instead of covering up his sin with Bathsheba, King David called out, "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me," in Psalm 51:10. His relationship with God was restored as a result of his repentance. Since God's grace is bigger than our shortcomings, we, too, must walk in the truth.
Another essential component of a successful life is authenticity. Many wear masks out of fear of being perceived as imperfect. Jesus, however, exhorts us to live in truth. "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free," he stated in John 8:32. Being authentic allows you to be free from hiding and pretending. We allow God to act powerfully through us when we accept who we are in Christ, flaws and all.
To be truly authentic, one must have faith in God. We show His light to the world when we embrace honesty and let go of our fear of being judged. Therefore, let us live honorably, walk in humility, and own up to our mistakes. By doing this, we not only become closer to God, but we also encourage others to follow in our footsteps.
Be real. Be honest. Be transformed.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Give us the humility to ask for mercy and the bravery to own up to our mistakes. Let us walk in the truth, unafraid and unpretentious. Let us act in a way that reflects Your light, speak with sincerity, and have pure hearts. May we honor You in whatever we do and live genuinely.
I believe that in Your perfect timing, my breakthrough will come. Until then, I will praise You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🙏
